The Corning Joint Fire District (CJFD) is committed to providing highly effective and efficient fire, rescue and medical 1st responder services for the community of The Town of Corning along with the Village of South Corning. And you will find that the services we provide are highly valued by community residents, employers and visitors to our community.
Serving as a volunteer member of the CJFD can bring many personal rewards and satisfactions, enhance self-esteem, and provide a tremendous sense of accomplishment and pride for a job well done. It will also provide your community with a valuable service that has the potential to touch us all.
In order to become a competent, effective and safe Firefighter and/or medical 1st Responder, however, you need to be willing to make a serious commitment to this goal. This guide has been developed to provide the information you need to make an effective decision that is right for you and our organization.
Once you understand what’s involved in being member of the CJFD, we hope that you are able to make the commitment your community desperately needs and join us in this important endeavor.
